Dave Van Horn recaps Fall Series exhibitions, gives injury update on Ryder Helfrick

The Arkansas Razorbacks baseball team wrapped up fall ball with two Fall Series exhibition victories over the Little Rock Trojans 8-1 and Dallas Baptist Patriots 5-3.
Head coach Dave Van Horn met with the media following the Razorbacks’ win over DBU on Saturday.
He gave an update on Hogs star catcher Ryder Helfrick, who took what Van Horn described as a “tough shot” off of a foul ball to the groin area in the first inning of Friday’s matchup and left the game in the fourth.
“He took a shot and we were concerned about it,” Van Horn said. “He ended up going to the ER and had an MRI done, it looks like he just has a little laceration down there.
“If there is a rupture there you are talking surgery, and it was about as close as you can get to that, I think, without having to have it. His spirits are good and he was upbeat last night. He is so tough, I can not believe he stayed in the game and hit.”
