How to Watch, BetSaracen Odds: Arkansas vs. Arkansas State

The eyes of the state will be on War Memorial Stadium on Saturday afternoon as the Arkansas Razorbacks (1-0, 0-0 SEC) are set to take on the Arkansas State Red Wolves (1-0, 0-0 SBC) in the first matchup between the two schools in history.
Last week, the Razorbacks made quick work of Alabama A&M, propelled by six touchdown passes from quarterback Taylen Green en route to a 52-7 win. Arkansas State handled its first opponent, Southeast Missouri State, in similar yet not as dominant fashion with a 42-24 win.
Leading up to the contest, Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman said he feels like the pressure is uneven across the two sidelines, as his teams has more to lose than the Red Wolves do.
“I think certainly we’re the ones with the pressure on us,” Pittman said Monday. “I wouldn’t think that they would have it. That’s the reason, I’m assuming, it’s the first time we’ve ever played. Because most of the time it would be our decision whether to play that game or not. Certainly we have high respect for their program.”
On the other sideline, Arkansas State head coach Butch Jones will be without one of his premier running backs, as Fordyce alumnus Ja’Quez Cross will miss Saturday’s game and the rest of the season after a torn ACL he sustained in practice this week.
The Red Wolves are not without talent, however. Quarterback Jaylen Raynor and wide receiver Corey Rucker will provide a stout challenge for an Arkansas defense that looked shaky to start out the season.
“A guy that, he maybe could have sacked Saturday four or five times and never got sacked,” Pittman said. “He got out of it. It wasn’t one guy he made miss, it was several. And then he would make a play off of that. So Raynor, he’s a really good quarterback. They’ve got speed. They like to get the ball on the edge, whether it be throwing or running. They have a little option package as well. They have a lot of speed with Rucker. He’s a really good player.”
