How to Watch, BetSaracen Odds: Arkansas vs. No. 17 Ole Miss

The Arkansas Razorbacks (2-0, 0-0 SEC) will face their first true test of the season on Saturday nightwhen they travel to Oxford, Mississippi, to face the No. 17 Ole Miss Rebels (2-0, 1-0 SEC) at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
The Hogs took care of business early last weekend against Arkansas State, as they jumped out to a quick 28-7 lead en route to a 56-14 win at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock. The Arkansas offense put up 630 yards of offense and held Arkansas State to just 285 in the two schools’ first meeting on the gridiron.
Ole Miss got its first taste of Southeastern Conference play as the Rebels dispatched Kentucky 30-23 at Kroger Field in Lexington. The Wildcats jumped out to a quick 10-point lead, but the Rebels outscored them 30-13 after that to secure the win.
In that game, Ole Miss starting quarterback Austin Simmons seemingly injured his ankle and had to be helped off the field. He practiced this week and though he appeared on the initial availability report on Wednesday, was removed on Thursday and should be good to go.
In other injury news, the Rebels will likely get former Razorback tight end Luke Hasz to dress out for Saturday’s game. He suffered an ankle injury in the preseason but Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin said he expects Hasz to play.
On Arkansas’ side, defensive tackle David Oke has missed the last two games because of a knee injury, but there’s a chance he plays on Saturday. Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman said the Abilene Christian transfer practiced on Tuesday and Wednesday, and he’s listed as “questionable” on the availability reports that were released Wednesday and Thursday.

HawgBeat Staff Picks
Each week, HawgBeat’s Daniel Fair and Kyle Sutherland will list a few picks that look favorable based on trends and statistics throughout the season.
- Daniel’s Pick: Mike Washington Jr. OVER 10.5 rushing attempts and OVER 0.5 rushing touchdowns (+125)
Washington took the second play of last week’s game 53 yards to the house, and finished the game with nine carries for 116 yards. He hasn’t gotten over nine carries this season, but part of that has to be due to the fact Arkansas has blown out the first two opponents and he hasn’t been needed.
This week, the competition level jumps with a ranked opponent, and I think they’ll get more carries to the New Mexico State transfer. Add in that Ole Miss’ run defense ranks dead last in the SEC with 181 yards on the ground given up per game, I think Washington is primed for a breakout.
- Kyle’s Pick: Julian Neal OVER 6.5 tackles and OVER 0.5 pass breakups (+115)
Neal could have had multiple interceptions against Arkansas State, but nonetheless was one of the top individual players for a defense that held its second straight opponent to under 300 total yards. Neal finished with 11 total tackles and one pick.
The secondary as a whole will have a huge test against the Rebels that includes going up against SEC leading receiver Harrison Wallace III. Ole Miss is the fifth-ranked passing offense in the SEC, two spots behind Arkansas at No. 3.
