How to Watch, BetSaracen odds: No. 25 Arkansas vs. No. 6 Louisville

by: Daniel Fair10 hours agohawgbeat

The No. 25 Arkansas Razorbacks (5-2) are set to host the No. 6 Louisville Cardinals (7-0) for the SEC/ACC Challenge inside Bud Walton Arena on Wednesday night.

The Razorbacks saw a four-game win streak snapped last Thursday when they lost 80-71 to No. 4 Duke. The Hogs led for a good part of the second half, but Cameron Boozer, who scored 35 points, was too much to overcome.

Louisville doesn’t have a front court player of Boozer’s caliber, but the Cardinals do have one of the best freshmen in the country in Mikel Brown Jr., who Meleek Thomas has crossed paths with several times in the high school ranks.

”USA camps, Chris Brickley events, just like little different events throughout both of our journeys,” Thomas said Tuesday. “And he’s a very good player, very versatile. He can mix it up, shoot, drive like, just do a lot of things that allow his game to just grow and grow. So, I give a lot of credit to Mikel on his work that he’s put in.”

The Cardinals lead the NCAA in scoring (96.7 points per game) while the Razorbacks are 48th (88.1). Louisville is also second in the NCAA in 3-point field goals made per game (13.1). Arkansas ranks third in the NCAA in fastbreak points (23.7 ppg) while Louisville ranks 329th at 7.29 per game.

The last time the Razorbacks and Cardinals matched up was in the Maui Invitational in 2022. Arkansas assistant head coach Kenny Payne was at the helm of the Louisville program and Arkansas won 80-54. The Cardinals finished that season 4-28 and just 2-18 in ACC play.
