Another game day, another loss for the Arkansas Razorbacks (2-8, 0-6 SEC) as they lost their eighth-straight game of the season in the Battle for the Golden Boot against the LSU Tigers (6-4, 3-4 SEC) in Baton Rouge on Saturday.

The Hogs started hot and scored on a blocked punt — the first blocked punt since 2022 and the first touchdown from a blocked punt since 2009 — but the Tigers responded with 16 unanswered points by the end of the first half.

Turnovers plagued the Hogs, as they have all season, on Saturday. Taylen Green threw two interceptions and Mike Washington Jr. fumbled the ball once. As a team, the Razorbacks gained 340 yards (165 through the air and 175 on the ground) but those turnovers, combined with an inability to convert third downs (Arkansas was 2-of-11 on third down and 3-of-4 on fourth), doomed the Hogs’ comeback attempt.

The Arkansas offense was able to get in position to take the lead late in the fourth quarter, but a 48-yard field goal attempt from Scott Starzyk sailed wide right, and the Hogs wouldn’t get the ball back.

The loss moves Arkansas to 2-8 on the season with a road matchup against Texas and a home game against Missouri to close out the season. As always, fans on social media expressed their praise and vented their frustrations.
