Taylen Green named East-West Shrine Bowl Monday Morning QB

Arkansas senior quarterback Taylen Green was selected as the East-West Shrine Bowl Monday Morning Quarterback for Week 1 of the 2025 college football season.
The East-West Shrine Bowl Monday Morning Quarterback Award is given to an all-star game eligible player that displayed the most NFL traits during that week.
The Lewisville, Texas, native thrived in Arkansas’ 52-7 season-opening rout of Alabama A&M on Saturday, completing 24 of 31 (77.4%) passes for 322 yards and a career-high six touchdowns while connecting with nine different pass catchers. He is one of two Arkansas quarterbacks in history to pass for 6+ touchdowns in a single game, joining Brandon Allen.
Though there are many new faces, Green has known for a while what the Razorbacks have in the wide receiver room for 2025.
“I wasn’t surprised,” Green said. “If you see how, how much work they put in, but at the same time, how fast they practice, especially O’Mega and CJ…just the way that they work every single day, they could be tired but you wouldn’t know it. I’m not surprised, but I’m just glad and grateful to have a receiver room like this.”
The Razorbacks travel to Little Rock on Saturday, Sept. 6, for the first ever meeting between Arkansas and Arkansas State at War Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. on ESPN+/SEC Network+.
