A former Nebraska and Miami running back recently signed with Tulsa Football shortly after entering the transfer portal. 5-11, 190-pound Ajay Allen made the announcement on Friday afternoon.

Allen played for Nebraska during the 2022 season after signing with the Huskers out of Monroe (LA) Neville over offers from Washington, TCU, Mississippi State and other. The former 3-star recruit was ranked as the No. 27 running back nationally in the 2022 class.

Allen ran for just 190 yards and two TDs before an injury prematurely ended his freshman season at Nebraska. He was able to redshirt due to appearing in only four games.

Allen then transferred to Miami (FL), where he played in 17 games over the past two seasons. With the Hurricanes, he rushed for 544 yards on 94 carries with 7 touchdowns. For his career, he has averaged 6.0 yards per carry, and he also has 7 receptions for 41 yards.

At mid-term in January, Allen transferred to Florida International, but he re-entered the transfer portal during the spring window.

Allen is a big get for Tulsa at a position of need, as TU running backs Rickey Hunt Jr. and Viron Ellison entered the transfer portal last week.
