Following the Future: GT commits help teams clinch region titles

The high school football season is rolling toward the end of the regular season with several members of Georgia Tech’s 2026 class and two 2027 commits in action across the Southeast.

Here is a look at how each of the commits performed in their most recent games in this edition of Following the Future, which will keep up with them throughout their seasons:

2026 Commits

JJ Winston, WR, Rome (Ga.)

Winston had a huge game offensively to help Rome roll past New Manchester 38-7 on the road and clinch the Region 5-AAAAA championship. The senior receiver finished with seven catches for 158 yards and a touchdown. Rome (7-2, 6-0 region) will close out the regular season this Friday by hosting Kennesaw Mountain before opening the Class AAAAA State Playoffs on Nov. 14 as a No. 1 seed.

Nathan Agyemang, TE, Kell (Ga.)

Kell was impressive in a 45-18 home win over Cambridge on Friday to finish out the regular season and clinch the Region 6-AAAA title. Agyemang had two catches for 37 yards and also had a strong night run-blocking as his teammate and 2027 running back prospect Quinterrius “Moonie” Gipson finished with 251 yards and four touchdowns on 22 carries. Agyemang also played on defense and had two assisted tackles and one tackle-for-loss. Kell (8-2, 4-0 region) is now done with their regular-season schedule and will await their first-round playoff opponent as the Longhorns will be a No. 1 seed in the Class AAAA bracket with the postseason opening Nov. 14.

Darnell Collins, WR/S, Rome (Ga.)

Collins had a quiet night on offense with three catches for 19 yards but made a big impact on defense in the Rome’s 38-7 win at New Manchester to clinch a region crown as he had several tackles and pass break-ups while playing safety for the Wolves. Rome (7-2, 6-0 region) will close out the regular season this Friday by hosting Kennesaw Mountain before opening the Class AAAAA State Playoffs on Nov. 14 as a No. 1 seed.

Amier Clarke, DL, Osceola (Fla.)

Osceola suffered a 35-27 home loss to Lake Wales on Friday in non-district play, but Clarke had a solid individual night with finished with nine total tackles (four solo), two sacks and a forced fumble. Osceola (6-3, 2-0 district) will be on the road this Friday at Lakewood (Fla.) to close out the regular season.

Freddie Wilson, DL, Spruce Creek (Fla.)

Spruce Creek rolled to a 35-13 home win over Flagler Palm Coast on Friday in district play. Wilson had three total tackles (two solo), 1.5 sacks, two QB pressures and a fumble recovery in the victory. Spruce Creek (7-1, 2-0 district) will be on the road this Friday to visit Gulf Coast in a non-district game.

Jeffar Jean-Noel, WR, American Heritage (Fla.)

American Heritage lost 19-2 to St. Thomas Aquinas on Friday as Jean-Noel finished with seven catches for 105 yards. American Heritage finishes the regular season with a record of 4-5 overall and 2-1 in district play.

Ladarrious “LJ” Crumity, CB, Madison County (Fla.)

Madison County (4-5) rolled to a 43-6 win at Apopka on Friday. Playing quarterback on offense, Crumity had 149 yards passing on 6-of-13 attempts with three touchdowns and one interception along with running for 55 yards on seven carries with a touchdown. Defensively, Crumity had one assisted tackle. Madison County is on the road once again this Thursday to visit Lecanto to close out the regular season.

Traeviss Stevenson, CB, Brooks County (Ga.)

Brooks County clinched the No. 2 seed from Region 2-A Division II and a home game for the state playoffs in the first round with a 39-21 home win over Charlton County on Friday. Stevenson had seven catches for 83 yards and two touchdowns, a two-point conversion catch and two rushes for seven yards on offense while he compiled five total tackles (two solo) on defense. Brooks County (4-5, 3-1 region) will finish the regular season this Friday at home vs. Irwin County.

Isaac Obrokta, WR, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee (Ga.)

Rabun Gap had a big 56-21 region road win at Cannon-Concord Academy Co-op (N.C.) on Friday. Obrokta finished with two catches for 22 yards. Rabun Gap (5-4, 2-0 region) will close out the regular season this Friday at home against an opponent TBA.

Kentrell Davis, WR, Parker (Ala.)

Parker was dominant in a 63-12 region home win over Woodlawn on Friday to close out the regular season. Davis had two catches for 49 yards and a touchdown in the game. Parker (7-3, 5-1 region) clinches the No. 2 seed from their region and will now wait for their first-round playoff opponent as the Alabama state playoffs open in the next few weeks.

Courtney Heard, OL, East Coweta (Ga.)

Heard started on the offensive line in East Coweta’s hard-fought 28-27 home win over Westlake on Friday. He helped the East Coweta offense to 394 total yards (267 passing, 127 rushing) in the victory. East Coweta (2-6, 1-2 region) will host Chapel Hill this Friday to finish the regular season and can clinch a state playoff spot and the No. 3 seed from their region with a win.

Courtlin Heard, OL, East Coweta (Ga.)

Heard started on the offensive line in East Coweta’s hard-fought 28-27 home win over Westlake on Friday. He helped the East Coweta offense to 394 total yards (267 passing, 127 rushing) in the victory. East Coweta (2-6, 1-2 region) will host Chapel Hill this Friday to finish the regular season and can clinch a state playoff spot and the No. 3 seed from their region with a win.

Jack Richerson, TE, Marist (Ga.)

Marist clinched the Region 5-AAAA championship and remained unbeaten in region play on Friday with a 42-10 home win over Lithonia. Richerson suffered an injury in his team’s win over North Springs on Oct. 3 that will unfortunately cost him the rest of his senior season. Marist (8-1, 7-0 region) will close out the regular season and region schedule on Friday when they visit Tucker.

Jaedyn Terry, CB, Manchester (Ga.)

Manchester defeated Mt. Zion 36-28 at home in region play on Friday. No individual stats were available for Terry after the win. Manchester (3-5, 1-2 region) will host Greenville this Friday and would clinch a state playoff spot and the No. 3 seed from their region with a win.

Jonathan Genty, P, Blessed Trinity (Ga.)

Blessed Trinity won 48-0 on Friday at home vs. region opponent Centennial. No individual stats were available for Genty. Blessed Trinity (6-3, 2-1 region) will visit Cambridge this Friday in a game that will determine the No. 2 seed from that region for the Class AAAA State Playoffs, which open on Nov. 14.

Alex Willis, Edge/DE, The First Academy (Fla.)

The First Academy lost its third straight game, falling 31-14 at home vs. Hun (N.J.) on Friday. No individual stats were available for Willis. The First Academy (4-5) will finish its season this Friday when it visits Lakeland (Fla.).

Kymani Morales, LB, American Heritage (Fla.)

American Heritage suffered a 19-12 home loss against St. Thomas Aquinas on Friday in their final scheduled game of the regular season. No individual stats were available for Morales. American Heritage finishes the regular season with a record of 4-5 overall and 2-1 in district play.

CJ Gamble, LB, Carrollton (Ga.)

Gamble and. Carrollton (9-0, 3-0 region) were off this past week but will be hosting a huge game on Friday against Douglas County that will determine the region champion in 2-AAAAAA.

2027 commits

Keyon Standifer, Athlete/WR, Athens Academy

Athens Academy clinched the Region 8-A Division I championship and closed out the regular season on Friday with a thrilling 49-46 victory at Rabun County. Standifer had another huge night offensively with six catches for 218 yards and two touchdowns with a long of 71 while also rushing for 34 yards on six attempts. On defense he had six solo tackles, and he rounded out his impressive performance with a 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Athens Academy (9-1, 6-0 region) will now have a couple weeks off before opening the GHSA Class A-AAA State Playoffs on Nov. 14.

Jordan Christie, WR, Southwest DeKalb

Southwest DeKalb defeated Northside handily on Friday by a margin of 69-0 to clinch the No. 2 seed from Region 5-AAAA for the upcoming state playoffs. No individual stats were available for Christie. Southwest DeKalb (7-2, 6-1 region) will finish out the regular season this Friday at home vs. Druid Hills.
