Q's Take: Tech Introduces AD Ryan Alpert With a Fresh Tone

For the fourth time since I began covering the Georgia Tech athletics beat, the Yellow Jackets have introduced a new athletic director. The latest hire is Ryan Alpert, formerly the Deputy Athletic Director at Tennessee, who officially took over as Georgia Tech’s AD this week. In his introductory press conference on Wednesday, Alpert set himself apart from his recent predecessors with a noticeably different tone. Unlike J Batt, who joked about not even knowing where the coffee machine was to deflect early questions, or Todd Stansbury, who leaned heavily on Georgia Tech history and the legacy of Homer Rice, Alpert focused squarely on the present and future.
