Five Cowboys drafted

Four Oklahoma State Cowboy baseball players were drafted in the 2025 Major League Baseball draft that concluded on Monday.
OSU commitment Ethan Holliday (Holliday goes No. 4 overall) and junior outfielder Nolan Schubart (Schubart goes in third round) were the day one selections.
On day two, right-handed pitcher Sean Youngerman was the first Cowboy off the board, selected by the Philadelphia Phillies with the 131st-overall pick in the fourth round. Six picks later, fellow righty Gabe Davis went to the Chicago White Sox with the first pick of the fifth round.
With the selections of Schubart, Youngerman and Davis, it marks the second consecutive year and the sixth time in program history that three or more Cowboys were taken in the first five rounds (1967, 1983, 1984, 2007, 2024).
In the last 13 years under head coach Josh Holliday, 77 Cowboys have been MLB Draft picks, with 37 of those selected in the first 10 rounds.
Oklahoma State’s 2025 ace, left-handed pitcher Harrison Bodendorf rounded out the Pokes picked in the draft. He joins Schubart as a Cleveland draftee, going to the Guardians in the 10th round. The southpaw earned All-America honors and was named the Big 12 Co-Newcomer of the Year and an All-Big 12 First Team selection.
Middle infielder/outfielder Brayden Smith rounded out the Cowboy draftees, going to Baltimore in the 13th round. Smith was an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention selection after hitting a team-high .304 with 11 home runs and 40 RBIs. He also led the Pokes with 16 doubles.
