Availability Report: Derek Simmons doubtful to play vs. Ole Miss

Oklahoma fans got some good news and some bad news on Thursday’s SEC Availability Report.

Offensive tackle Derek Simmons is designated as “doubtful” on the latest report to play against Ole Miss on Saturday, while tackle Logan Howland is now designated as “probable.” Simmons was initially questionable on Wednesday’s report. Howland was initially questionable.

Running back Jovantae Barnes and cornerback Gentry Williams remain questionable to play. Kendel Dolby remains off the availability report.

According to the SEC Availability Report, players listed as questionable as “uncertain to play due to injury or condition.” Players listed as doubtful are “unlikely to play due to significant concerns.” Players who are probable are “likely to play, barring any setbacks.”

With Simmons listed as doubtful, the Sooners will be likely be down one starting offensive lineman against Ole Miss. Howland, who has missed the last two games, could see immediate snaps in Simmons’ place.

Additional availability reports will be released Friday and 90 minutes before kickoff.

The No. 13-ranked Sooners host No. 8 Ole Miss at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The game will be broadcast on ABC.
