OL Luke Baklenko (#78) and OL Derek Simmons (#66) go through drills at the University of Oklahoma (OU) first fall open football practice, Friday, Aug. 1, 2025.

The first SEC Availability Report for the Oklahoma-Ole Miss game this weekend was released on Wednesday.

The report includes several key players for the Sooners.

Running back Jovantae Barnes, cornerback Gentry Williams, and offensive linemen Derek Simmons and Logan Howland have all been listed as questionable. Wide receiver Keontez Lewis, who missed last week against South Carolina, is listed as doubtful.

Jake Taylor, Jacob Sexton and Troy Everett have all been ruled out. Cornerback Kendel Dolby, who was surprisingly ruled out late last week prior to the South Carolina game, is not on the availability report.

According to the SEC Availability Report, players listed as questionable as “uncertain to play due to injury or condition.” Players listed as doubtful are “unlikely to play due to significant concerns.” Players who are probable are “likely to play, barring any setbacks.”

Simmons’ availability is crucial for the Sooners heading into the weekend. He played a huge part in OU’s success last week against South Carolina, particularly in the running game. The Sooners are hoping to replicate that success against Ole Miss, which ranks 99th nationally in rushing defense. Plus, Simmons’ absence would be a huge blow to OU’s hopes for cohesion on the offensive line.

If Simmons is unable to play, Luke Baklenko would likely draw the start at right tackle unless Howland is able to play. Howland has missed the last two weeks.

Outside of Baklenko, second-year player Daniel Akinkunmi might be the only other healthy option at either tackle spot.

Additional availability reports will be released Thursday, Friday and 90 minutes before kickoff.

The No. 13-ranked Sooners host No. 8 Ole Miss at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The game will be broadcast on ABC.
