Availability Report: Status for Kobie McKinzie, Gentry Williams upgraded ahead of Tennessee game

Oklahoma saw a couple of positive developments on Thursday’s SEC Availability Report.
OU linebacker Kobie McKinzie and cornerback Gentry Williams are now listed as “probable” to play this weekend against Tennessee (6:30 p.m. CT Saturday, ABC). Both players were listed as questionable on Wednesday.
According to the SEC Availability Report, players listed as questionable as “uncertain to play due to injury or condition.” Players listed as doubtful are “unlikely to play due to significant concerns.” Players who are probable are “likely to play, barring any setbacks.”
The status of McKinzie and Williams are the only changes for the Sooners from Wednesday’s report.
McKinzie and Williams’ return to the lineup would be huge for the Sooners as they prepare for a touch matchup against Tennessee’s offense. The Volunteers rank second nationally in points per game (45.6) and third nationally in passing offense.
McKinzie has started all eight games for OU this season, recording 24 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and one sack. He left early in last Saturday’s loss to Ole Miss with a groin injury.
Williams has started five games at cornerback, logging 10 tackles. He’s missed the Ole Miss game after suffering a shoulder injury against South Carolina.
Additional availability reports will be released on Friday and 90 minutes before kickoff.
