THE POSITIVES

— Sategna continues to be Oklahoma’s most vital and versatile offensive weapon. Today he’s again been a safety blanket for Mateer and also an explosive downfield option.

Sategna came into the game with 37 receptions for 493 yards and four scores, leading OU in all three categories.

— It hasn’t been a great day for the offensive line, but Ole Miss has zero sacks and only two tackles for loss going into halftime.

True freshman Ryan Fodje got the start at right tackle in Derek Simmons’ absense.

— Sandell has now made 13 consecutive field goals for the Sooners.

— The Sooners get the ball coming out of halftime.

THE NEGATIVES

— The Sooners really hurt themselves in the second quarter. Already deep in their own territory, an illegal formation penalty pushed the offense back to their own three-yard line.

On the next play, Blaylock was tackled in the end zone for a safety that gave Ole Miss a 12-10 lead.

— After that safety, Ole Miss returned the kickoff for 38 yards and started the drive near midfield. They turned that drive into a field goal.

— Later in the second quarter, OU failed to pick up and fourth-and-two near midfield. The Rebels took advantage, scoring on their ensuing possession before half.

— Ole Miss is winning the explosive play battle. The Rebels have eight plays of 13-plus yards, and five of those have gone for at least 20 yards. The Sooners’ defense had allowed just 17 plays of 20-plus yards coming into the game.

The Sooners have three plays of 15-plus yards.

— The Sooners haven’t ran the ball effectively at all despite Ole Miss’ struggles this season. The Sooners have just 16 yards on nine carries (1.8 yards per loss). OU’s longest run is six yards.

— The Rebels have run the ball very well, taking 23 carries for 98 yards (4.3 yards per carry).

— The Sooners are losing in two key areas.
