After four seasons in Norman, redshirt junior tight end Kaden Helms is entering the transfer portal.

During the 2025 season, Helms served as a backup tight end for Oklahoma, totaling five receptions for 35 yards and one touchdown. That score came on a three-yard reception against Kent State and marked his first catch of the season. Helms later added a 16-yard reception against LSU, which stood as the longest catch of his Oklahoma career.

The Bellevue, Nebraska native reportedly had a strong showing during fall camp before suffering another injury. Unfortunately, injuries have been a recurring challenge for Helms, as he missed the entire 2023 season due to injury.

On Monday, Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett reported that Helms would enter the transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining.

Helms becomes the fourth Sooner to enter the portal this offseason, joining Kendel Dolby, Kobie McKinzie, and Isaiah Autry-Dent. He concludes his Oklahoma career with eight receptions for 58 yards and two touchdowns.
