NOTES
— Blaylock took the RB1 duties, as expected. But the most notable aspect of the running back room was Ott’s usage. Ott logged 29 snaps after seeing just 32 through the first four weeks. He was the only other running back that saw snaps until Sawchuk played late in garbage time.
— Javonnie Gibson played 23 snaps in his OU debut, and he came in immediately following Keontez Lewis’ injury. It was also interesting to see Ivan Carreon have a noticeable uptick in snaps.
— The Sooners’ presumed starting five of Maikkula, Nwaiwu, Ozaeta, Simmons and Fasusi played the majority of the game on the offensive line.
— Stone made his first collegiate start in the absence of Damonic Williams and Jayden Jackson. There was no discernable drop off with Stone and Halton on the interior.
— Eli Bowen made his season debut and got the start at cornerback opposite Courtland Guillory. Notably, he and Williams are listed at the same cornerback spot on the depth chart.
Williams played just eight snaps. It was only Kent State, but it’ll be interesting to see how the Sooners handle the cornerback room against Texas.
