OU softball: Sooners add second commit to 2027 class

Oklahoma softball coach Patty Gasso added another commitment to the 2027 class on Thursday.

The Sooners received a commitment from infielder Riley Hilliard, who announced it on social media. Hilliard is the second-ranked catcher in the 2027 class and the No. 11 overall player, per Rivals.

“God has given me this incredible opportunity and without him, I would’ve never been able to find my way,” Hilliard said in her Instagram post. “Thank you Coach (Patty) Gasso, Coach JT (Gasso), Coach (Jennifer) Rocha and Coach (Falepolima) Steele for allowing me to live out my dream of being a Sooner. Let’s go, Sooner Nation!”

Hilliard, from La Mirada, California, joins Goose Hutchens as recruits who have committed to the Sooners’ 2027 class. Hutchens is from Wagoner, OK and is ranked as the No. 2 player in the 2027 class.

The Sooners finished the 2025 season with a 52-9 overall record and a berth in the Women’s College World Series semifinals. The Sooners begin their fall slate at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 3. with a battle series exhibition.
