OU's Jake Maikkula, Michael Fasusi, Febechi Nwaiwu now "probable" to play against Auburn

The Sooners received some big injury news in the latest SEC Availability Report.
Left tackle Michael Fasusi, right guard Febechi Nwaiwu and center Jake Maikkula are all now listed as “probable” to play in Saturday’s game against Auburn, according to Thursday’s report. The offensive line trio — who are all expected to start against Auburn — were all listed as “questionable” on Wednesday, putting their status against Auburn up in the air.
Jeremiah Newcome, Jacob Sexton and Jake Taylor remain “out” for the Sooners. Defensive end Marvin Jones Jr., who has started all three games at defensive end, remains questionable.
Eli Bowen and Javonnie Gibson remain doubtful to play, and they’re expected to wait until after the Sooners bye week next weekend to make their season debuts.
Wide receiver Zion Kearney has also been upgraded to probable after he was initially listed as questionable.
According to the SEC Availability Report, players listed as questionable as “uncertain to play due to injury or condition.” Players listed as doubtful are “unlikely to play due to significant concerns.” Players who are probable are “likely to play, barring any setbacks.”
The updates on the availability report give some much-needed optimism for the Sooners, particularly along the offensive line. As long as there are no setbacks, the Sooners should be in line to start the same offensive line group that played in Week 2 against Michigan.
There will be additional availability reports on Friday and 90 minutes before the game kicks off on Saturday. Game time is set for 2:30 p.m. on ABC in Norman.
