The SEC recently voted to change from an eight-game to a nine-game conference schedule beginning in 2026, with team also required to schedule one non-conference game annually against a Power 4 team or Notre Dame. Under the new format, each school will play three annual opponents focused on maintaining many traditional rivalries, and each team’s remaining six games will rotate among the remaining conference schools. The annual opponents will be reviewed every four years, allowing for the possibility of change.
The conference will unveil the dates for the 2026 season in December.
