Oklahoma gave three-star LB Kristan Moore a memorable birthday gift last week with a late scholarship offer.

And just four days later, the Selma (Ala.) native is a member of the Sooners’ 2026 recruiting class. He announced his commitment to Oklahoma on Monday evening and will sign with the program on Wednesday. A former North Alabama commit, Moore quickly backed off his long-standing pledge when Oklahoma offered.

His official visit to Norman over the weekend left no doubt that OU was the place for him.

“The first thing when I got there was just the atmosphere,” Moore told OUInsider.com. “The coached showed nothing but love as soon as I stepped foot on the campus. Some of my future teammates, just talking and bonding with them, and then especially watching them play the game was amazing. I really just can’t wait to get on that field.”

Moore loved Oklahoma’s resilience in a 17-13 comeback win over LSU, and it validated all his impressions of the program’s trajectory under Brent Venables.

“Man, they’re hard to kill,” Moore laughed. “You can see it for yourself. That type of program, that type of defense, that type of coaching staff is something I know I want to be a part of. I want to be the exact same way as those players on the field. They fight till the fourth quarter, nonstop. And that’s what I really love about it.”

Jim Nagy was crucial in Oklahoma’s late push to land Moore, as was Nate Dreiling. The two tag-teamed a phone call to Moore on Thanksgiving Day to extend the offer, and the weekend in Norman got Moore even more stoked to play under his future position coach.

“Really his excitement to get me there early,” Moore said of Dreiling. “I love the type of person he is, and I’m just blessed that he believed in me and gave me the opportunity. He genuinely wants me to play for him, and I will love to be coached by him.”

Moore is the 24th commit of the 2026 cycle for Oklahoma, and the fourth linebacker in the fold. He joins four-star Florida native Jacob Curry, three-star Indiana phenom Dane Bathurst and three-star Arizona product Beau Jandreau in the Sooners’ LB class.
