Oklahoma's offensive line play in 2024 was horrific, and that's why Derek Simmons is a Sooner today. Obviously, the program's struggles in the trenches couldn't really be helped last fall. OU dealt with a litany of injuries up front that eliminated the mere possibility of establishing any continuity. But in 2025, the Sooners are healthier. They've cultivated more depth in the offensive line room. And they'll rely heavily on one transfer in particular to help anchor the unit. That transfer is Simmons, a sixth-year senior who's blazed a very serpentine path through the college football ranks.
