Source: Dayton Forsythe out against Stetson with an ankle injury
Oklahoma guard Dayton Forsythe rolled his right ankle against Arizona State on December 6, limiting him to just 10 minutes in that game. A week later, he was back on the court playing through the injury in the Sooners’ win over Oklahoma State, logging 16 minutes.
Forsythe then played two minutes against Kansas City last Tuesday before rolling his left ankle, leaving him with injuries to both ankles. He did not return to action after the injury and was seen on the bench in street clothes for the remainder of the game. Since then, he has been wearing a boot on the newly injured left ankle.
The 6-foot-2 guard from Dale, Oklahoma will not play in Monday night’s game against Stetson due to the ankle injuries, sources tell OUInsider.
At this point, the most likely date for Forsythe’s return is when Oklahoma opens conference play on January 3 against Ole Miss. That would mean the Sooners are expected to be without Forsythe for the next two games, leaving them with just two true ball handlers and a shortened rotation.
