Allen University EDGE Amarie Fleming commits to Texas Tech

Texas Tech has picked up its first transfer portal addition of the 2026 cycle in Allen University EDGE Amarie Fleming. Fleming chose the Red Raiders over reported offers from Eastern Illinois, Gardner-Webb, Kennesaw State, Southeast Missouri State, Arkansas State, Sacramento State and Alabama State.
As a sophomore, the 6-foot-2, 230 pound Fleming was named to the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) First Team Defensive Line after racking up 48 tackles, 18 tackles-for-loss, 13.5 sacks and 4 forced fumbles.
“With a relentless motor and uncoachable edge, Fleming became the SIAC’s sack king, racking up 13.5 sacks in just 10 games — good for the top mark in the league. His ability to create havoc in the backfield earned him a First Team spot and solidified his reputation as one of the most feared defenders in HBCU football”
Fleming will arrive in Lubbock with three years to play two. He initially signed with Allen University as part of the 2024 class out of Lafayette High School in Mayo, Florida.
Texas Tech is set to lose pass rushers David Bailey, Romello Height, Terrell Tilmon and Charles Esters III after the season, and Fleming will be part of the group expected to help replenish the depth and talent in the outside linebackers/EDGE room.
