Morton, Carter listed probable for Kansas State matchup

In a good bit of injury news, Texas Tech quarterback Behren Morton and tight end Terrance Carter Jr. were both listed “probable” in the Big 12’s initial availability report for this week’s trip to Kansas State. The pair both sat out the Red Raiders’ 42-0 trouncing of Oklahoma State a week ago.
A welcome sign on the “probable” section
Morton and Carter being listed probable is good news following the recent development with redshirt freshman Will Hammond. The Hutto native is listed as “out” this weekend after he suffered a non-contact ACL injury against the Cowboys.
Morton’s injury stemmed from the leg injury he suffered in the season-opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Morton was available each of the previous two weeks, but on emergency basis only. He suited up for the second half of the win over Oklahoma State, but was not needed with Mitch Griffis’ stellar performance.
Carter has dealt with a variety of ailments– the most recent of which being a lower leg injury that took him out of the Arizona State matchup. The junior tight end has 23 receptions for 297 yards and five touchdowns this season. Carter’s dynamism in both the passing and running game will be a welcomed addition back to the Red Raider regime in Manhattan.
