McGuire & Leftwich get another look at the big fish
Savannah (GA) may be West Texas, now. The HC and OC hit up the Peach State to see commits Stephen Cannon and LaDamion Guyton take on Ware County. The latter is Rivals’ No. 1 overall recruit in the class of 2027. The duo’s teammate, RB Stanley Smart, is another target on Tech’s board that McGuire and Leftwich got to watch in-person Friday.
Juice Johnson rolls into Forney
The Red Raiders’ wide receivers coach made the five-hour trek to Forney to see 2026 commit Imari Jehiel take on crosstown rival North Forney. Jehiel’s Jackrabbits were defeated by the Falcons, 35-16. Prior to Friday’s game, he had recorded 12 receptions and 211 yards on the season.
Zarnell Fitch hit the road to Cedar Hill
DL coach Zarnell Fitch hit the road to Cedar Hill to watch Joey McGuire’s old kingdom turn the horns loose against Lancaster. More importantly, Fitch got to take in a live game from 2027 five-star DT Jalen Brewster. The No. 8-ranked player nationally in his class is set to announce his commitment Oct. 4.
The younger McGuire spends his Friday in New Boston
The Red Raiders are high on their running back commit Ace Rowden out of New Boston. His future position coach Garret McGuire hit the road to New Boston to check out Rowden Friday. The Lions emerged victorious over Lake Country Christian, 49-0. Rowden’s stats for 2025 have not yet been updated, though he did share he scored four touchdowns in last week’s win over Grace Community.
