Texas Tech women’s basketball picks up their second commitment of the day in Class of 2026 6-6 center prospect Jayda Kearney out of Spring, Texas. Kearney chose the Lady Raiders over TCU, West Virginia, Clemson, Arizona State and many other high major offers.

The 6-6 lefty is a bit of a unicorn in both directions and brings athleticism to the center position every program in the country is forever chasing. She is a raw talent but with her elite measurables she’s already garnering comparisons to former unanimous first-team All-American and National Champion Angel Reese.

A top prospect in the state of Texas, Kearney was recently named the No. 1 player in the city of Houston by VYPE Magazine and well respected talent evaluator Jason Key called her a future five star in his evaluation of her in 2024.

Get to know Jayda Kearney a bit more in this interview on NCHC’s YouTube page.
