Texas Tech Rises in College Football Playoff Rankings

After completing their home regular season slate a perfect 7-0, capped off with a 48-9 rout of UCF this past Saturday, Texas Tech stays in line to host the first postseason home game in history with a No. 5 ranking in latest College Football Playoff rankings. This is the highest ranking in school history, up one spot from last week’s No. 6 ranking.
As the bracket sits after Tuesday’s rankings release, Tech would host the projected No. 12 seed Tulane (highest ranked group of five team) in Lubbock in the first round of the college football playoffs. Date and time TBD.
The top four seeds in the CFP will receive a first round bye and Tech hopes to have two more chances to prove to the committee they deserve just that. Up first will be West Virginia November 29 (time and TV TBD) and then if they win (or other scenarios fall in their favor) Tech will play in the Big 12 Championship game on December 6, 11:00 AM at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
