Toddrick Gotcher returns to Lubbock on MBB staff

After announcing new hires Rem Bakamus and Duncan Bacon last week, Grant McCasland has once again added to his coaching staff with a familiar name returning to West Texas.
Toddrick Gotcher, a former All-Big 12 honorable mention selection, is officially joining Texas Tech’s staff as an assistant coach for the upcoming season.
The 32 year old Gotcher has spent the last nine (9) years playing for various clubs internationally in Greece, France, Turkey, Macedonia, Romania and Poland. He was the Polish Cup winner and MVP this past season with Górnik Wałbrzych, scoring 24 points in the Final.
This will be his first coaching opportunity, and he’s doing it in a place where he had so much success and was a fan favorite.
Gotcher played at Texas Tech from the 2011-12 season through the 2015-16 season, which was Tubby Smith‘s final season as Texas Tech head coach and marked the return of the Red Raiders to the NCAA Tournament.
Gotcher saved his best for last, averaging a career-best 10.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.0 steals per game as a senior.
Now he’ll join McCasland’s staff to try and help Texas Tech advance even further than they did last season, when they finished second in the Big 12 and made the Elite Eight.
