Where Texas Tech's Jacob Rodriguez finished in Heisman voting

Texas Tech linebacker Jacob Rodriguez finished fifth in the Heisman voting. His final placement was revealed on The Top 10 Heisman Trophy Finalists Show on ESPN.

Rodriguez finished in fifth behind Ohio State’s Julian Sayin, Vanderbilt’s Diego Pavia, Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza and Notre Dame’s Jeremiyah Love. All the candidates aside from Love are quarterbacks.

Who finished behind Texas Tech’s star linebacker

The fifth-year Red Raider sat ahead of formidable competitors. Jeremiah Smith from Ohio State came in at sixth, while Georgia QB Gunnar Stockton finished seventh. Ole Miss QB Trinidad Chambliss came in eighth. Ohio State had three finish in the top 10 with safety Caleb Downs sitting ninth. Georgia Tech QB Haynes King rounded out the list at tenth.

Rodriguez’s trophy case growing

Rodriguez has been adding major hardware to his trophy case in the last week. He’s won the Butkus Award, the Lombardi Award and the Bronko Nagurski Trophy.

Rodriguez remains a candidate for the Chuck Bednarik Award, which will be awarded on Dec. 11.
