Maryland football commit Zion Elee one of six Five-Star Plus prospects in initial Rivals300

The first-ever Rivals300 was released Monday with Maryland football commit Zion Elee sitting atop the rankings.

Elee, a five-star edge rusher out of Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances, was the No. 3 player nationally, while also the top overall player at his position as well as the top overall player in the state of Maryland in the initial Rivals300.

With the merging of the On300 and the Rivals250 to create the new Rivals300, a new Rivals Industry Ranking now equally weighs the new Rivals rankings with 24/7 and ESPN.

One of just six 2026 prospects rated a five-star by all three scouting services, Elee took the top spot as the No. 1 player in the new Rivals Industry Ranking.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder committed to Mike Locksley and the Terps back in December of last year, choosing Maryland over a laundry list of Big Ten and SEC powerhouses, including Auburn, Oregon, Ohio State, Penn State, South Carolina and Texas A&M.

Elee had initially planned six official visits but cancelled all but Auburn and Maryland following his commitment.

Elee took his official visit to Auburn back in early May. And while other schools have continued to actively pursue him throughout the spring and summer, Elee made it very clear following his time on The Plains that he was still very much committed to the hometown Terps.

“I enjoyed my visit to Auburn,” Elee told Auburn Sports back in May. “I’m still 100% committed to Maryland and my recruitment is still closed.”

Following an unofficial visit to South Carolina a week prior, Elee took his official visit to Maryland last month and enjoyed his time on campus with committed teammates Khmari Bing, Damon Hall and Hakim Satterwhite.

As a junior, Elee totaled 56 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 10 sacks and three forced fumbles playing against one of the nation’s toughest high school schedules.
