Two of Vanderbilt’s stars on the offensive side of the ball were named to the 2025 Walter Camp Award watch list – QB Diego Pavia and TE Eli Stowers. The Walter Camp Player of the Year Award is presented annually to the, you guessed it, most outstanding player in college football. Recent winners include

CB/WR Travis Hunter (2024)
QB Jayden Daniels (2023)
QB Caleb Williams (2022)
RB Kenneth Walker III (2021)
WR DeVonta Smith (2020)
QB Joe Burrow (2019)

This is the second national award watch list that has included Diego Pavia, the other being the Maxwell Award. Pavia accounted for over 3,000 yards of total offense and 28 touchdowns for the Commodores last season.

Tight End Eli Stowers was also deservedly named to the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award watch list. Widely considered one of the best TEs in the country, Stowers caught 49 passes for 638 yards and 5 TDs last season in black and gold. The PaviaStowers connection looks poised to take a step forward statistically in 2025 if Vanderbilt is able to find additional threats out of the backfield and on the outside.
