National Recognition Builds for Eli Stowers, Named to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List

Vanderbilt Tight End Eli Stowers is one of, if not the, best TEs in the country. A projected early round NFL draft pick, Stowers has accumulated quite a few preseason accolades. He has now been named to preseason first-team All-American lists 4 times, the Maxwell Award watch list, and now the Biletnikoff Award watch list.
The Biletnikoff Award was created in 1994 and is given to college football’s most outstanding receiver – that means pass catcher, not just Wide Receiver. Recent winners include:
Travis Hunter, Colorado (2024)
Marvin Harrison Jr, Ohio St (2023)
Jalin Hyatt, Tennessee (2022)
Jordan Addison, Pittsburgh (2021)
DeVonta Smith, Alabama (2020)
Ja’Marr Chase, LSU (2019)
Eli Stowers was Vanderbilt’s leading receiver during the 2024 campaign, with 49 receptions, 638 yards, 5 TDs, and some eye popping highlight plays in big moments. While Stowers is unlikely to be a finalist, much less win the award given Vanderbilt’s extremely run heavy offense, it is still nice to see the talented player and future NFL Tight End receiving deserved national recognition.
Other SEC players included on the watch list include
Aaron Anderson, LSU
Germie Bernard, Alabama
O’mega Blake, Arkansas
Cam Coleman, Auburn
Kevin Coleman Jr, Missouri
Jack Endries, Texas
Cayden Lee, Ole Miss
Eric Singleton Jr, Auburn
De’Zhaun Stribling, Ole Miss
Harrison Wallace III, Ole Miss
Ryan Williams, Alabama
