Tight End Eli Stowers Wins William V. Campbell Trophy

Vanderbilt Tight End Eli Stowers has been awarded the William V. Campbell Trophy. Not as widely known as some awards, the William V. Campbell trophy annually recognizes an individual as the absolute best in the nation for his combined academic success, football performance, and exemplary leadership. Often this award is referred to as the “Academic Heisman”. Not only did Eli Stowers excel on the field, leading the country in receiving yards from a Tight End with 765, he also excelled off of it. Stowers carried a 3.92 GPA while also carrying a good portion of the Commodore passing attack.

This is the second postseason award the Commodores have received so far, the first being the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award given to QB Diego Pavia. Eli Stowers and Diego Pavia were also named to the All-SEC first team earlier today.
Eli Stowers is also a finalist for the John Mackey award, given to the best tight end in the country, and a semifinalist for the Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Award.
