Vanderbilt's head coach Shea Ralph shouts to her players during the exhibition game between Vanderbilt and Memphis during the Hoops for St. Jude Tip Off Classic at FedExForum on October 27, 2025.

Shea Ralph and the Vanderbilt WBB program have landed their 1st high school commit of the 2026 cycle in 5 star guard Olivia Jones. Jones is from Long Island, New York and plays for LuHi (Long Island Lutheran Middle and High School), a prep school with a long history of producing elite men’s and women’s basketball talent.

In her junior season, Jones averaged 19.1 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game against arguably the best competition in the country. Her junior season was widely regarded as one of the in the country considering the competition she faced. Jones has continued growing her stock as a senior and during the summer in various New York and national invitationals.

Jones is viewed as an elite all-around prospect with outstanding size and a strong offensive game to go along with it. Jones has been the primary ball handler for both her high school and AAU teams and shows the makings of a great college point guard. She is unafraid to use her size and drive to the basket, but can also shoot it efficiently from just about anywhere on the court. Along with that scoring ability she is a good playmaker who knows how to set up her teammates well. Her size, athleticism, and tenacity also indicates the above average potential as a rebounder and defender at the guard position.

Jones is the 2nd 5 star to commit to Vanderbilt and Shea Ralph with Mikayla Blakes being the only other one. Before Blakes, Vanderbilt had never landed a 5 star prospect directly out of high school. Jones’ commitment is an indication of the continued upward trajectory of the Vanderbilt women’s basketball program under Shea Ralph and AD Candace Storey Lee as they aspire to take it to new heights.

Jones figures to be in the mix to be the starting point guard playing alongside Blakes for the 2026-27 and 27-28 seasons.

Look for Vanderbilt to add at least one more high school commit in this cycle.
