Navy accepted an invitation to play Cincinnati in the 67th AutoZone Liberty Bowl on Jan. 2 in Memphis. The #22 Midshipmen enter at 9–2 and will make their 26th bowl appearance and third trip to the Liberty Bowl, having previously defeated Kansas State in 2019 and facing Ohio State there in 1981. Cincinnati, now in the Big 12, is 7–5 and will make its 22nd bowl appearance and second in this game.

This will be the seventh meeting between the programs, with the series tied 3–3. The Bearcats won the last matchup in 2022. Navy has won three straight bowl games and six of its last seven, including last year’s win over Oklahoma in the Armed Forces Bowl.

“We’re extremely excited to be invited to the AutoZone Liberty Bowl and to have the opportunity to play a Cincinnati team that we used to do battle with every year in the American Conference,” head coach Brian Newberry said in a statement. “Going to a bowl game is always one of our top goals, but right now our only focus is to get goal No. 1, and that is to BEAT ARMY and keep the Commander-In-Chief’s Trophy in Annapolis.”

Navy will conclude the regular season on Saturday in Baltimore in the 126th Army–Navy Game.
