Memphis put up a fight against #1 Purdue at the Baha Mar Championship but the Boliermakers proved to be too much as the Tigers fell 80-71.

Dug McDaniel led Memphis with 18 points, six assists and six rebounds. Zach Davis was second on the team with 11 points.

The game had nine lead changes and six ties. The Tigers were down by 2 with 7:54 to play when Memphis forward Aaron Bradshaw fouled out after getting a technical when he got into a scuffle with Purdue’s Oscar Cluff.

After that, Purdue went on a 17-5 run and the game was essentially over.

Memphis will now face Wake Forest tomorrow night at 6 p.m., on CBS Sports Network in the Baha Mar Championship consolation game.
