Samford OF Michael Gupton commits to Memphis

The Memphis Tigers Baseball team got a big boost to their lineup yesterday when Samford outfielder Michael Gupton announced on his Instgram that he’s committed to Memphis.

PREVIOUS SCHOOLS

Michael Gupton started 54 games last season for Samford. He had a .333 batting average with 51 RBI’s and 15 home runs. He also has a great fielding percentage of .984. A fielding percentage of .980 or higher is considered excellent.

Before he played at Samford he played at Gulf Coast Community College. He had a .286 batting average with nine doubled, three triples, eight home runs and 42 RBI’s.

Coming out of high school in Raleigh (NC), Gupton was Perfect Game’s top-ranked player in North Carolina’s 2022 class. They also ranked him as a top-10 outfielder nationally and a top-40 player overall. He also set an unofficial world record with a 5.96 60-yard dash at the 2021 Perfect Game National Showcase.
