Georgia Adds Two-Way Talent Bryce Calloway

Georgia baseball continues to add to its strong transfer portal class, as it landed the commitment of Bryce Calloway, a right-handed two-way player from the University of New Orleans.
He announced his commitment to the Bulldogs Wednesday via video released to X. He becomes the 21st addition via the portal this offseason for Georgia. Calloway is ranked as the No. 43 player in the transfer portal by 64Analytics. He is the 15th Top 250 player that Georgia has landed in the portal this offseason.
Calloway also makes for the second portal addition from New Orleans. Earlier in the offseason, Georgia added Grant Edwards, a fifth-year right-handed pitcher. Calloway now gives Georgia not only another outfield option that could help fill the voids left by the departures of Ryland Zaborowski, Nolan McCarthy, Devin Obee, among others, but also another arm for the bullpen.
In addition to his impressive work at the plate, where he totaled 18 home runs, 63 RBIs, while posting a .390 batting average. Calloway posted a 4.26 ERA with 23 strikeouts and just 11 walks, while recording 11 saves for the Privateers.
Calloway becomes the second two-way player that Georgia has added through the portal. Their first pick-up of the offseason was Kenny Ishikawa. The third-year outfielder and right-handed pitcher posted a .318 batting average and .982 OPS in his first season in the United States after transferring to Seattle University from Asia University in Tokyo, Japan.
With the MLB Draft set to kick off on July 13th, the wait to find out which draft-eligible players will return for another season in Athens continues. Yet, even with the wait, head coach Wes Johnson and co. continue to add to their roster.
Georgia’s 21-player transfer portal class ranks as the second-best per 64Analytics. Only Mississippi State has a higher-ranked class.
