Georgia has landed a commitment from Rivals100 tight end Kaiden Prothro.

Prothro had been a lean to the Peach State’s flagship institution for a while, but he pulled the trigger on Saturday. The four-star committed to the Bulldogs over Auburn, Texas, and Florida.

Prothro has great relationships with Georgia head coach Kirby Smart and position coach Todd Hartley.

“Being down at Georgia with Coach Smart and seeing how he coaches, getting down there to see how they practice, seeing what Coach Hartley is doing with the tight ends … Every time I go out there, they’re getting better,” Prothro told Rivals. “Seeing the tradition at Georgia, how they produce guys into the NFL — that’s what you want to see as a recruit. It’s big for me.”

Hartley started recruiting Prothro when he was a freshman and really wanted to keep him in-state.

“[Coach Hartley is] always telling me that he’ll develop me well, [that Georgia is] the place to be right now with the recruiting class, and he’s bringing in the right guys to a winning program,” Prothro said.

Prothro is the typical tight end prospect at 6-foot-6 and 216 pounds. He can also line up as a receiver.

Prothro told UGASports that the staff wants to line him up in different spots and he’s willing to do it.

“Well, they told me they were going to recruit me as a tight end, obviously, but I may not grow into a tight end,” Prothro, the nation’s No. 37 overall player in the 2026 class, said. “I may just grow into one of those big-bodied receivers. I can also come in and block a little bit.”

Prothro is Georgia’s third tight end commitment in the 2026 class, joining Lincoln Keyes and Brayden Fogle.
