Georgia offers fast-rising 2028 running back Jacez Walton

Georgia is in an excellent position in the recruitment of Jacez Walton after the Bulldogs offered the 2028 running back last month.
The Bulldogs offered the Central Carrollton (GA) product after he attended a 7-on-7 camp in Athens on June 11. Walton told UGASports that he has been waiting on an offer from Georgia for a long time.
“It feels amazing. I’ve been waiting and working for this school since 7th grade,” Walton said. “It feels incredible to see a school so close showing interest towards me.”
Walton said that at the camp, Bulldog running backs coach Josh Crawford took an interest in him.
“I got to experience getting coached by Coach Crawford today, and it felt great. I could definitely see him coaching me in the future,” Walton said. “Also, I’ve spoken to Coach (Kirby) Smart on multiple occasions, and I can say confidently that he’s a top-tier head coach in the country.”
Crawford and the Central Carrollton sophomore are starting to develop a relationship. The Georgia position coach knows Walton well because he has recruited his older brother, Jonaz Walton, a 2026 Notre Dame commit.
Jacez Walton said he still loves Georgia, despite his brother currently being a Notre Dame pledge.
“I’ve known (Coach Crawford) for a good bit of time because of the recruitment he did on my brother,” the younger brother said. “He told me that he wanted to offer me, and that it doesn’t have any correlation with my brother, and that Georgia doesn’t do that.”
Walton loves Georgia’s history of producing running backs. When he was in elementary school, he watched former Bulldog greats Nick Chubb and Sony Michel.
“George’s production at the running back position is really great,” Walton said. “They’ve produced many great backs: Nick Chubb, Sonny Michel, Todd Gurley, Nate Frazier, and my personal favorite, Roderick Robinson.”
Walton grew up less than an hour from Chubb’s hometown in northwest Georgia.
“It would be an amazing honor to be mentioned with Nick Chubb,” Walton added.
Walton has other offers from Tennessee, Oregon, Minnesota, Miami, Georgia Tech, Kennesaw State, and Liberty. However, the in-state Bulldogs hold a special place for Walton, who wants to return to campus soon.
