No. 1 2028 quarterback Jayden Wade has committed to Georgia.

Jayden Wade is a Bulldog.

The IMG Academy quarterback, ranked as the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2028 Rivals Industry Ranking, has committed to Georgia. A native of California, Wade chose Georgia over Ohio State, Texas, and others.

“Everyone there works together and is on the same page,” Wade told Rivals in September. “They have the same goal, they work hard, and that is one of the things I really like about Georgia… They don’t feed into the noise — they just want to work at Georgia. I like the competition there and how it is all about business.”

Wade has long been a priority target for Georgia in the 2028 class. The Bulldogs offered him on Christmas Day 2023 during Wade’s eighth-grade year.

As he has grown as a football player, Wade has impressed the Georgia staff with his ability to understand the game. He has shown off his football IQ during his visits to Athens.

“What they like the most about me is when I went on the board and I started dialing up defenses, offenses, just letting them know my intelligence, my IQ in football,” Wade told UGASports earlier this fall. “It was a play, and I broke it down to them, like how to where they can understand it because they didn’t know our play. I broke it down into all the little parts, and showing this, if they missed, then we’re going to do this. If they rotate coverage, then we’re going to do this. I just explained it, I elaborated it very well.”

Offensive coordinator Mike Bobo played a major role in Wade’s decision to join the Bulldogs.

“What makes him stand out, he’s an old guy. He knows a lot about football,” Wade told UGASports earlier this fall. “He’s been through a lot of situations, you know, a lot of experience. That’s just what makes him different, he knows a lot about football, he knows how to treat quarterbacks too as well. So that’s what I think that makes him different, he knows almost everything.”

Wade has also put NIL on the backburner in his recruitment. He feels that meshes well with the philosophy of Georgia head coach Kirby Smart.

“What stuck out to me is how he’s stuck on keeping the main thing the main thing,” Wade told UGASports earlier this year. “That’s what I’m looking for. I’m not really worried about the NIL and all that. I am just wanting to be developed to get to the league… I’m at the point where I already know I can get a certain amount of money, but I don’t want it for that. I want to make it to the league and develop.”

Wade is Georgia’s second commit in the 2028 class, joining tight end Asa Wall.
