Each month of the Division I season, we’ll update our position power rankings to track the best players at each position. Our power rankings are determined by offensive and defensive statistics, the eye test on the field, strength of schedule and the player’s value to their team’s success.

Miami’s Karli Spaid and Oklahoma’s Alyssa Brito were both more than deserving of the top two spots. Spaid is tied for the most home runs in the nation at 22. While Brito has been a consistent presence for the Sooners in the lineup and on the field. Mercer’s Tori Hedgecock also jumps in the rankings while enjoying her best season to date.

New players to the rankings include Georgia’s Sara Mosley, Nevada’s Haley Painter, Western Kentucky’s Taylor Sanders and Virginia Tech’s Bre Peck.
