2027 four-star Nealy McCluskey commits to Liberty

After leading Liberty to its best program finish, head coach Dot Richardson has started the 2027 recruiting cycle with a bang. Four-star catcher/utility Nealy McCluskey announced her commitment to the Flames on Tuesday.
McCluskey played this past summer and is a part of the Louisville Lady Sluggers Huecker team that earned a Top 32 seed at the 2025 18U AFCS. She has also spent time in the Texas Glory and Birmingham Thunderbolts Premier organizations.

The Tennessee native comes from Christ Presbyterian Academy in Nashville. She’s a strong-armed right-handed catcher who swings with a ton of power from the left side.
“Nealy is such a special talent,” said Ashley VanBoxmeer, who was a part of the Lady Sluggers staff and current Unity Softball Director of Softball Operations. “She’s a force behind the plate and at first base, bringing a level of intelligence, competitiveness, and determination that sets her apart. Offensively, her bat consistently produces pop from the left side, and she’s only going to keep getting stronger as she develops. What a tremendous addition for Coach Dot Richardson and the Liberty Flames.”
