4-star 2027 recruits Charlie Simi and Eloisa Maes commit to Arizona

Arizona has started the 2027 cycle as hot as the desert summer. Four-star recruits Charlie Simi and Eloisa Maes announced their commitments to Arizona on Sunday morning.
Simi is already a strong defender for her age at the corners. She can play multiple infield positions. Has the ability to hit for average as well as power potential at the next level. Simi was one of the stars of the summer for Athletics Mercado-Hovermale/Tidd, the 16U Premier PGF 16U Premier National Champions.
“Arizona has a culture that is truly unmatched,” Simi said. “The Wildcat family has created an environment where the players can be supported, develop and thrive on and off the field. I knew after stepping onto the field, that Arizona was a place I wanted to call home someday.”

Maes was another standout this summer. The righty helped guide Texas Glory to the Elite Eight, went 14-2 with a 1.91 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, and 119 strikeouts in 102.2 innings. She has good swing-and-miss stuff with her rise and change.
“I knew Arizona was home when they took the time to learn about you as a person,” Maes said. “The strong relationships they build create a good atmosphere where coaches and teammates can push one another to always grow.”
