No. 15 overall recruit Lorelei 'Lolo' Gamble commits to Texas

The reigning national champs picked up a trophy player. Reese Atwood can’t play forever, but Lorelei ‘Lolo’ Gamble can be the next great backstop in Austin. The four-star catcher from Texas announced her commitment to the Longhorns on Sunday.
“Texas has always been my dream school,” Gamble said. “I couldn’t have passed up the opportunity to play for the amazing program that Coach White and his staff have built.”

Gamble plays with Blaze United under head coach Cory Robertson and attends Dripping Springs High School. She has one of the best arms in the class. She has some of the cleanest arm action & accuracy behind the plate in the country. Offensively, she has line drive power that commands her approach at the plate. Gamble almost fits the mold of a great defender the moment she gets to Austin, with the bat still having plenty of upside.
“Lorelei ‘Lolo’ stands out immediately with her imposing presence in the batter’s box and behind the plate,” Robertson said. “Her reputation is such that setting a school record and dominating nationally with her overhand velocity (75 mph) gives her pop time one of the best in the country. She’s a game-changer. At the plate, she brings elite power with a mature approach and the ability to make opposing teams walk her by force. Behind the plate, her defensive reliability and leadership cement her status as an elite and complete catcher.”
