Oregon finds itself in the Top 10 of the 2027 team recruiting rankings after a pair of commits from four-star athletes this past week. Catcher Avery Scieszinski and outfielder Ella Reynolds announced their commitments to the Ducks this past week.

Every moment I was there, it felt like home,” Scieszinski said. “Amazing coaches and players that made me feel like family the second I was there!”

Scieszinski, who also had strong interest from Oregon and Alabama, is from Iowa and the Iowa Premier. While Eugene is far from home, she enjoyed the idea that her family can still see the Ducks when they make their Big Ten road trips to the Midwest.

She is another very talented catcher in the 2027 class. Scieszinski has a physical presence behind the dish. She can move, frames well and has a plus arm. She can hit some monster shots and will boost RBI numbers in the lineup for Oregon.

Reynolds, who also took a visit to Georgia, will make the cross-country trek from New Jersey to Oregon. Reynolds comes from an athleitc family, the daugher of former MLB player Harold Reynolds. She can swing a big bat and drive the ball deep. In sequence with her swing, is a strong and athletic outfielder with room to grow in her game.

“Having family in the area and many attend university of Oregon,” Reynolds said. “I’ve been a Duck fan for as long as I can remember. But that’s not the only reason I chose Oregon. I chose Oregon softball because of the amazing culture they cultivate.  From the moment I stepped on campus on my recruiting trip I could feel that energy. The coaching staff is amazing and I just knew it was a great fit. I am blessed to be able to be surrounded by so many amazing people.”
