About BamaOnLine (Alabama Football)

BamaOnLine was launched in June 1996 by Shannon Terry and was the first fan site on the Rivals.com network.

Led by publisher Tim Watts, BamaOnLine grew to more than 10,000 members and became the largest fan site on Rivals.

BamaOnLine was eventually purchased by Watts and moved to 247Sports, where the site continued to extend its market lead from 2011 until 2023.

In June 2023, BamaOnLine merged with BamaInsider, widely considered the second-largest Alabama fan site led by renowned Alabama recruiting expert Andrew Bone, and moved to the On3 Sports Network.

Most commonly known as “BOL,” BamaOnLine is considered one of the icons of the sports media industry.

Our mission is to deliver the ultimate Alabama fan site to the most loyal and passionate college fanbase. We will accomplish this with the most experienced, deepest and most knowledgeable staff in the market, tapping into 25 years of experience in building media companies.

Bear Bryant put the storied Alabama football program on the map. Nick Saban has built the program into a dynasty going on one of the most dominant runs of all time, including seasons with back-to-back titles and appearances in the national championship game in four straight seasons. Saban has won seven national championships himself, including six at Alabama, most recently winning Alabama’s 18th national title.

The bar has been raised and the challenge accepted.
