COMMITMENT: 4-star DL Corey Wells flips commitment from Texas to Auburn

Four-star defensive lineman Corey Wells has flipped his commitment from Texas to Auburn.

Wells, who is from Petal, Miss., announced his decision on Wednesday. He had been committed to Texas since June 9.

“I like the people, the coaches … everybody is so welcoming (at Auburn),” Wells said. “Everybody just loves you for who you are.”

Wells said Auburn defensive line coach Vontrell King-Williams played a part in his decision. King-Williams was retained earlier this week by new Auburn coach Alex Golesh.

“(King-Williams) is a good, honest dude,” Wells said. “I like him. He always keeps it 100 with me.”
