AUBURN — Hugh Freeze is overhauling the Auburn football roster as quickly as he can after his arrival in the winter.

To date, Auburn lost 19 players to the transfer portal, while welcoming in 20 players. That’s in addition to the 21 high school prospects Auburn signed, many whom arrived before the spring, with the rest reporting this summer. FINISHING STRONG: Auburn’s 2023 signing class finished ranked No. 17 nationally and No. 8 in the SEC.
- The Tigers jumped 10-plus spots after Freeze’s hiring.
- To date, Auburn has welcomed in five 4-star transfer portal players, while losing zero 4-star portal players from the roster.
- According to the On3 Sports transfer portal rankings, Auburn’s 19 players lost to the portal average a 66.16 player ranking, while the 20 players added from the transfer portal average a 73+ player ranking.
STARTING 2024 OFF RIGHT: Auburn has five commitments for the 2024 class, with four of those being ranked a 4-star.
- Walker White is without question the linchpin of the class. He’s the No. 10-ranked quarterback, a top-100 prospect, and the hand-picked quarterback by Freeze for the future.
- Joining White prior to August camp starting and the dead period hitting were 5-stars Demarcus Riddick and Perry Thompson.
