His career high in points came this season against UNC-Asheville, scoring 15 points in the win. Donaldson’s best assist game came at Washington in December of 2022, dishing out seven assists in the Tigers’ road win.
Impact of Donaldson’s decision on the Auburn roster
This is somewhat of a surprise, but in the world of NIL, nothing is ever off the table. Donaldson met with Auburn’s coaching staff after the NCAA Tournament loss to Yale and appeared to be content with the Tigers’ plan at the position. He understood Auburn would recruit a portal point guard. However, over the last few days, there have been rumblings that Donaldson’s camp was looking for better NIL offers outside of Auburn. Sources have confirmed that to Auburn Live. Potential minutes next season is also a factor in Donaldson’s decision. And now, Donaldson plans to enter the transfer portal. It’s somewhat of a loss, but not something that should wreck the Tigers’ roster outlook. Auburn needs better point guard play and it’s why they are recruiting the portal. With Donaldson’s apparent departure, that leaves freshman Aden Holloway on the roster and whoever the Tigers add in the portal. We’re still awaiting Holloway’s final decision.
